Hi I'm Stephen, aka dj Qog (pronounced like qwogg). I started playing the guitar at 13 and was always interested in playing my favorite artists' leads. In 1999, I was introduced to psytrance and everything changed. I realized that through software I could express my emotions exponentially more than what I could do layering guitar parts together. I dropped the guitar and so the journey began in music production. I began dj'ing in 2002 or so, but due to my demanding career, I've only played a few outdoor events. I have always kept up my production work though and I've stashed away years worth of material that will some day make its way back into the studio for release.
In the beginning of 2006 (Post-Katrina), I was finally settled back into my studio in New Orleans and ready to turn another page. What I've experienced first-hand after such devastation changed my perspective forever. During the aftermath, the ensuing reality of how precious and fragile us sentient beings are was crystal clear. I knew at the time that i had an overwhelming desire to help the local musical community, but I was oblivious to how I could actually help. Then one night, a realization occurred. We realized the best way to spread the compassion and joy in our hearts to other people was to create this label. Hence, the name Dharmaharmony and the concept behind the label was born.
I am going to continue to produce in my spare time and maintain the website, but don't expect any releases from me for quite some time. My main focus is this label right now, so let's look forward to the future!
